Ingredients:
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 4 large egg yolks
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped brownie pieces
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
Instructions:
Over medium-low heat, mix heavy cream, whole milk, and sugar in a saucepan
Stir the mixture until the sugar is gone and it's all warm
Whisk egg yolks in a different bowl
Pour a little of the warm cream mixture into the yolks at a time while whisking the eggs all the time
Put the egg mixture that has been tempered back into the saucepan with the rest of the cream mixture
Over medium heat, stir the mixture all the time for about 5 to 7 minutes, or until it gets thick enough to coat the back of a spoon
Do not let it get too hot
Now take it off the heat and mix in the vanilla extract
Allow the mixture to cool all the way down
Once it's cool, put the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn it the way the maker's instructions say to
Sprinkle the chopped brownie pieces into the ice cream during the last few minutes of churning
Let them mix in evenly
Put half of the ice cream that has been churned into a container that can go in the freezer
Put half of the caramel sauce on top of the ice cream
Do the same thing with the rest of the ice cream and caramel sauce
Use a knife or spatula to swirl the caramel into the ice cream
The food should be frozen for at least 4 hours or until it is firm
